Providing Award-Winning Home Security Systems

Is it Hard to Program a Home Security System?

You're not alone if this looks a little bit intimidating to you.

You’re not alone if this looks a little bit intimidating to you.

This is one common question and concern that we often get from homeowners in the field. Some people are afraid that a home security system will not be a good value for them because they fear that they will have so much trouble using the system that it ultimately will be ineffective for them.

A secondary concern comes up when people have latchkey kids. Mom or Dad might be perfectly capable of running the system, but what about a child coming home from school?

These are both very valid and understandable concerns, especially if you’ve never spent much time around home security systems. Many renters, for example, have never had the opportunity to deal with one.

Can you operate your smart phone?

Here’s good news. If you can operate your smart phone you can probably operate your home security system.

Yes, there may be a bit of a learning curve at first. But that is why our installation team takes the time to train you on your new system once it is installed.

We want you to be safe. You can’t be safe if you don’t know what to do.

So by the time we leave your house, you can be sure that you’ll know exactly how to run your system, period. In addition, some of our equipment options, such as key fabs, make arming and disarming your system even more convenient.

What about the kids?

Admittedly, kids can be kids, and that means they can be careless or forgetful. That’s why we often recommend the Z-wave door lock to homes with kids.

That means that kids don’t have to keep track of keys, and you don’t have to take the security risk involved in trying to hide keys on your property. Instead, they memorize and enter an easy 4 digit code.

Z-wave can be linked to the security system. That means the system will disarm itself in response to the Z-wave code–making locking and unlocking your door pretty convenient for you, too.

Having a home security system also means your kids are home alone with a piece of technology that can put them into instant contact with the police. Don’t you like the idea of a panic button?
