Charlotte Teen Targeted by Home Invaders Twice in One Week

charlotte-home-invasionWe’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. When it comes to burglaries and home invasions, lightning does strike twice.

Just take this recent story of a Charlotte teen who had two encounters with the same home invaders.

During the second home invasion the teen managed to defend himself with a gun that his father had given him. But that didn’t mean he didn’t suffer any injuries. In fact, he could have gotten shot himself.

Ludwick has cuts on his face and four staples in the back of his head from where one of the men grabbed the gun and pistol whipped him after the shooting.

So Ludwick had a gun, but the home invaders took it away from him. It is very, very fortunate that they didn’t shoot him with his own weapon.

This story has a happy ending. The bad guys were arrested shortly after the second encounter and they were taken to jail. They’re being charged with first degree burglary and felony larceny.

But there were many, many ways this story could have gone horribly wrong. This teen didn’t have any backup. The rest of his family wasn’t home. And it doesn’t sound as though this family had a monitored alarm system to protect them.

What if this teen had been able to hit a panic button? What if an alarm that summoned the police had begun sounding the moment the invaders came through the door? What if the invaders had known help was on the way?

Would this teen have been able to have avoided a potentially deadly confrontation in his own home?

We’re inclined to think so.

Guns are a last resort. There’s too many ways that using a gun can go wrong. And they certainly can’t defend your home if you’re not there.

Indeed, a gun is a tempting target for a thief.

So you can’t rely on guns alone. Give yourself real police back-up and call us for an estimate on your new monitored home alarm system today.
